06/04/2010 - Forest Beat Stow To Send Them Down
Forest Reserves came to Plaistow for the Easter Monday changed fixture and took all 3 points. From the start it didn't look like too many people wanted to be there from either side. Though a couple of the Forest players in midfield, who might we add, looked too good to be playing lower league football in West Sussex controlled the game and should with no doubt lead their team to promotion this season.
Things weren't helped for the Stow when keeper Matt Thompson showed signs that a former "injury" had returned before kick off and Pierre Hazelwood was begged rather than asked to step in between the sticks instead of a place on the bench. Without going too much into detail, Forest looked the better team for most of the game and took their goals well.
What is the saddest thing is that for most if not all of the season the opposition have always had something extra than The Stow and that something is confidence. Without losing too much pride Plaistow are a team now waiting for the season to end so that they can re-group and start again. Plaistow a couple of seasons were a team that were on the up... everyone knows that a few things happened and from then on it has all gone horribly wrong. But Plaistow with a little more confidence and the right mix of players can start moving forward again!
The sun went down on Foxfields for another season on Monday with the hope that a brighter season will follow next time around.
