29/03/2010 - Back To The Drawing Board!
At the beginning of the season Plaistow were hoping to put their stint in Division 3 behind them and have a crack at promotion to get themselves back into that league. There was even talk from some people about having a reserve team for the players that didn't or wouldn't get much game time in the first team. What happened though was that for most of the season if not nearly all of it up to now is that Plaistow have been struggling to get a full starting 11! Sometimes right up until late on a Friday night people would suddenly turn around and say that they couldn't play, a few have even left it until Saturday morning!
With this said, those who have not shown commitment probably won't be reading this anyway! What is needed though for next season is a bunch of players who are ready to show the commiment of wanting to play every Saturday. Of course there are going to be odd occasions that people can't make it for some reason. That is where we need to get the depth for a team that wants to challenge for things at the top of leagues and not struggle at the bottom.
If people want to see Plaistow FC continue then everybody needs to put in the commiment for the next season. As for the rest of this season everybody associated with the club needs to get behind Boss Rogers and fight for some pride and a few points in the remaining games!
Plaistow FC will rise again, if we want it to!
