29/03/2010 - Plaistow On Their Way Out

Plaistow went the short journey to Wisborough Green hoping to collect some much needed points, but left emptied handed as they went down 6-1 to an organised home side.

It was noticed before the game that Wisborough Green didn't have a first team fixture, but credit to them that they didn't fill the Reserve team with first players. The ones that were put into the side did make a big impact but Plaistow managed to hold their own. Though the away team did manage to find themselves 2-0 down at half time even though they had been playing some good football in spells.

The second half was a complete shambles for Plaistow as when they went on the attack they left themselves exposed at the back for counter attacks which Wisborough managed to help themselves to four more goals. At 2-0 Dan Hobden managed to clear the ball back off the line but was then at fault for letting the striker free to nod home a third. Some poor decision making from a someone who wasn't in a home or away shirt cost the away side a couple more goals.

From what was said after the game from a few spectators, that the 6-1 scoreline was some what flattering to the home team - not taking away that they deserve to win the game. There were some notable performances from Marc Hobden who made some good runs out on the right. Also Sam Gilling looked to be showing some fine form on the ball which had shades of a couple of seasons ago. Finally Paul Clarke who came off the bench to terrorise the defence with some good pieces of skill and he rewarded himself with a fine taken goal.
