Plaistow FC were formed in 1931 and admitted to the Horsham and District League. They now play in the West Sussex Football League. The home ground is 'Foxfields'.
Plaistow is a quintessentially English village. There is a Village Green, a pond, a pub and a Church all in the centre of the village. There are over thirty graded (previously known as listed) buildings in the village. The Sun Inn was purchased by the Pullen family in 1807, Plaistow Church was built in 1810 and Plaistow School in 1869.

Halfway through season 2004/5 a new joint management team of Paul Cooper, Shaun Greaves and Eric Rirsch took up the reins. In their first season the club finished a respectable 5th position in Division 5 North following a strong finish. A quarter final appearance in the Division 5 Cup was also another highlight.
The following season 2005/6 the team just missed out on promotion finishing 3rd , but the foundations for the team were beginning to be built. In the summer the team gained a sponsorship deal with local company Farm Fresh Express and also signed up a number of excellent prospects for the following campaign, to add to an already strong squad. The setting up of the football teams website www.plaistowfc.co.uk also occurred during this time and has since gone from strength to strength with many visitors to the site, both here and abroad.
Season 2006/7 saw the club promoted as runners up in Division 5 Central. The team also won the first piece of silverware in over 27 years, beating Horsham Trinity Reserves 3-0 in the Division 5 Cup final at Arundel FC. In a momentous night goals came from Ben White, Duncan West and Paul Cooper - but it was the overall commitment that the whole squad had shown throughout the season which inspired this success.
